The Story of the Friendship Pot
In the summer, the Tohono O'odham Indians pick the ripened saguaro fruit to make wine. When the wine is ready, they have a ceremony in which they drink the wine and do a round dance to bring rain to the land. The round dance is a symbol of oneness in unity. The Friendship Pot is a symbol of this round dance.
The Friendship Pots from Teissedre Designs, Inc. are hand painted in Tucson, Arizona. Most are offered in two colors -Painted, traditional browns and earth tone colors or Jewel Tone, vibrant reds and blues.
